When a sunshiney optimist who sees the best in everyone thinks the grumbly grump is the best thing out of the whole beautiful world.

“You’re not useless.”

Psyche isn’t sure how many times she had said those words to her husband over the years, but every time she grew more and more firm in her beliefs that she was speaking the truth.

There never was and never will be a time when Kaad is truly useless. Psyche knew that from the moment she met him and she will die knowing it to be true.

But the dark whisperings, the ones his parents and the Sith had planted in his mind, would always come back. No matter how many times she held his hand, smiled and supported him, he would forever doubt himself.

It broke her heart to know that she could never completely heal him… but she had grown to love and adore him for his humility and the moments where he was vulnerable. His darkest moments, the moments he was willing to share with her.

From the bottom of her heart, she know with a certainty that she would be saying the words again and again for years to come and when the time came and her days ended, she ensured there were messages and signs throughout their house and his workplace to remind him: You’re not useless.

So here are some happy things about my couples!

Aduzeel swindled and stole a bunch of money to get Zekshat a better recording studio with better sound quality and better tools and better everything, on the condition that he keep true to his original artistic vision and not suddenly change everything to better appeal to the mases. Not a lot changes, he’s still low fi and acoustic, but it’s where Zekshat’s first widely released album was recorded.

Kaad and Psyche. Everything about Kaad and Psyche. With a son who absolutely adores them both, and who always wants to play Spy, since that’s what mommy and daddy do, and they’re the best spies ever! Kaad playing Spy with Winter and always coming up with new problems, and Winter coming up with insane 7 year old solutions that often involve bringing in giant rancor dragons, like the GIANTEST rancor dragons EVER and Kaad just rolling with it, oh no, looks like the Republic brought in anti-rancor dragon artillery, what are you going to do?

Breja and Cole Cantarus going out to visit the rebuilding museums of Corellia after the end of the occupation, getting all excited about the exhibits on the history of spaceflight and chatting to each other about how when they were little, they’d go to this very museum (Breja with her family, Cole on the precious days when they’d let kids in free, getting one of the older members of his gang to pose as his parent so that he can get in) and how much they enjoyed all the exhibits. At the end of their visits, they both put in a pretty hefty donation to the museum so that kids in the future can have the same fun they had. Cole leaves in a comment card suggesting that they let kids in free every day.

Kleskizhae and Aeziya going out for ice cream, with her prodding him on to write odes to as many different kinds of food as he can, and he comes up with poems of dubious quality for everything she can come up with, and she laughs and tells him that it’s cute.

Probably some more too? Probably later. I can happy too! Sometimes!
