there are plenty of good interpretations of arcade gannon in what new vegas fic i’m aware of (which pretty much means the gay stuff) but i especially appreciate the ones where he absolutely does not have his shit together, where he is just sort of puttering by on bare-bones practical medical knowledge and hope and bad interpersonal relations despite his obvious charisma

he’s a neurotic impulsive overly-honest dork who will tell you off in a minute if you do something he disagrees with morally i mean who the hell readily admits to being terrible with people and having a useless job, then runs off into a desert hellscape at the drop of hat with someone he barely knows just because the guy dropped a bad pickup line on him, then keeps blurting out good old enclave childhood memories despite it being a literal risk to his life; he is a fucking mess and i’m glad for the people who characterize him that way
